Kelly Hungerford (@KDHungerford) and I sat next to each other during lunch at the 2013 Content Marketing World (if you’ve never attended CMW, you need to go!). We hit it off so well that we became fast friends. I was amazed by how much she got done with a tiny marketing budget. My conversations with her turned into two blog posts: “How to Prepare a Successful Twitter Chat” and “How to Turn a One-Hour Twitter Chat into One-Week’s worth of Tweets!”. To say she works wonders is an understatement!

Throughout 2014 and 2015, we occasionally chatted with each other via Skype and discussed working on a project together.  Rather than waiting for a project to knock on our doors, we decided to team up to do a workshop in Lausanne, Switzerland. Yes, a workshop in Switzerland on 5/12!

Kelly has been actively involved in local marketing communities. Switzerland is not a marketing conference destination per se. Content marketing is not widely discussed, which presents an opportunity for an educational workshop. Since I’ll already be in Europe for another speaking engagement, it’s like hitting three birds with one stone!

If you happen to be in Switzerland during the week of May 12th, stop by Lausanne (which is a beautiful vacation spot). Attend the workshop on Thursday, then spend a weekend at sublime Lake Geneva. No brainer!

Workshop: The 7-Step Guide to Scale Your Marketing Content Effectively

Course Description:

This in-depth course will teach you what you should do to evaluate your current content, create an editorial plan and establish a communications process with your marketing peers and internal stakeholders. You will also learn the best practices for collaborating between countries to implement your marketing strategy effectively.

 After the 3.5-hour workshop, you will:

  • Identify key elements to incorporate into your content marketing plan
  • Learn how to repurpose content
  • Create a high-level editorial plan
  • Receive inspirational insight that will help you align your team to create a content marketing culture

When Kelly and I met for the first time, she worked at a start-up, while I was at a big corporation. She is an American who lives in Switzerland, while I am an Asian who lives in the US. We live 5368 miles apart, yet we just happened to meet in Cleveland. Coincidentally, we left our jobs and decided to strike out on our own (almost at the same time).
